Queer Eye’s most recent season saw the Fab Five do what they do best — making people look and feel good. This, inevitably, meant I did what I do best — watched it all in one go.

This ultimate feel-good show is packed with nuggets of wisdom that stretch miles further than what to wear and how to cook. As well as finishing the season with (happy) tears in my eyes, I left my binge-watch with 4 life-lessons.

(*Massive spoiler alert* only read after you’ve watched it, which won’t take long if you’re anything like me!)

1. Make peace with your past to make way for the future

In Ep.4 we see the Fab 5 drive Tyreek, a community activist with a troubled past, to his first apartment. Jonathan yells ‘your gorgeous first apartment!’, to which Tyreek quietly and humbly replies ‘home’.

‘Home’ is the keyword for this episode. After bonding with Bobby over their shared experiences of homeless and troubled family relationships, we learn that he struggles to feel at home. He is scared to get too comfortable in his apartment as he fears the comfort won’t last.

As the episode progresses the Fab 5 teach Tyreek, and the viewers, that you need to make peace with the past…
